What We Cover

THE CULTURE SPACE writes about the moments that define a city: the block parties, the runway reveals, the protest songs, the late-night conversations that turn into movements. Our focus is the lived culture of New York — fashion, music, style, politics, and community — reported with the eye of a documentary photographer and the voice of someone who actually goes.

How We Work

Every story is reported firsthand. Every photograph is made on assignment, not pulled from a library. We publish at the pace of good work, not the pace of the feed. If a piece needs another week, it gets another week.

Our Voice

Editorial, unhurried, personal. Long sentences when they earn their length and short ones when the moment is small. We trust our readers to follow a thought.

The Team

THE CULTURE SPACE is founded and edited by Erwin Kersellius — photographer, writer, and longtime documentarian of New York’s cultural undercurrents. Contributors join by invitation and by pitch; submission guidelines are here.
